Volunteering

We need volunteers between the hours of 9:00AM-2:00PM, when students are in classes and workshops. Our schedule is flexible.

Volunteer Opportunities

The possibilities are endless! Volunteer in our childcare center to read stories to or play games with the children. Tutor students in ESOL or help them prepare for the GED in Spanish. Lead a health workshop. Help us raise funds for our school. Answer the central telephone and assist with filing and other office duties. Share your expertise in computers. Lend a hand with building maintenance, such as painting classrooms and weeding the garden.

Do you have your own ideas and suggestions? Tell us. We’d love to hear it!

Requirements

There are no specific requirements to be a volunteer at MUA. However, some helpful qualifications include: bilingual Spanish-English, computer skills, tutoring or teaching experience, familiarity with the Latino culture, patience, dedication, and a sense of humor.
